Krofta Technologies Rolls Out DAF Rental Units

Portable units solve short-term wastewater treatment problems
Dalton, MA Krofta Technologies, an Ecovation company, now has Multifloat DAF (dissolved air flotation) wastewater treatment units available for rent. Offering an alternative to purchasing equipment for situations that only require short-term use, the units are engineered to be installed in a wide variety of industrial or municipal applications. In addition to providing effective solid separation for wastewater treatment, the units have a modular, space-saving design, stainless steel construction, and low maintenance needs.
A customer can reserve a unit to fill in the gap when planning for future DAF equipment upgrades or repairs. Fruit and vegetable processors with seasonal operations can rent a unit to get them through critical production periods without investing in equipment that will sit unused the rest of the year. A DAF rental unit also can be used as a stopgap solution for preventing or reducing fines from municipalities when wastewater composition reaches unacceptable levels due to changes in production.
"We realized that we couldn't keep our pilot units on the shelf because our customers needed them for urgent situations," said Mike Noyes, senior vice president. "Now with the option to rent, they don't have to wait for the equipment to be manufactured to address short-term changes in their water treatment program."
Since the rental units accommodate up to 500 gpm compared to the pilot plants at 50-100 gpm, potential clients can run tests at full capacity before purchasing a permanent DAF unit, Noyes also noted.
