Jacobi's Game-Changing Technology For PFAS Reduction
The presence of perfluorinated compounds in source waters and drinking water is of growing concern to water professionals and consumers, due to their adverse health effects on humans and wildlife. Because the carbon-fluorine bond is one of the shortest and strongest chemical bonds, perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a persistent problem once introduced into the environment. Activated carbon (AC) and ion exchange resin (IX) are two of the commonly used technologies to remove PFAS from groundwater and surface water. Each technology has its own merits and drawbacks, requiring further evaluation on a case by case basis.
