Itron To Showcase 100W ERT Communication Module For Leak Detection At ACE11

Visit Itron (Booth # 836) at ACE '11 to hear a small water leak from miles away.

The 100W ERT module, when paired with an integrated Leak Sensor, provides water utilities with a new approach for distribution system maintenance. When fully deployed, the 100W ERT and Leak Sensor work together to monitor the utility's entire distribution system around the clock, acoustically monitoring the integrity of the system. Using the ChoiceConnect system, utilities can find leaks before they become costly disasters.

The 100W ERT and Leak Sensor can be used as a stand-alone leak detection solution, or in concert with Itron ChoiceConnect AMI/AMR networks. When used in an AMI or AMR scenario, the endpoint stores 40 days of hourly reads to ensure data integrity and offers advanced customer-side leak, reverse-flow and tamper alarms. Multiple mounting options offer greater deployment flexibility and help lower installation costs. The Leak Sensor is connected to a dual input 100W ERT and is completely waterproof. Leak detection data can be gathered using either an FC300SR Handheld computer for walk-by downloading of data, or the Mobile Collector 3 (MC3) or Mobile Collector Lite (MCLite) for mobile data collection, or via the Itron ChoiceConnect 100 fixed network.

The 100W ERT communication module is part of the ChoiceConnect solution for water utilities that offers advanced capabilities such as full two-way communications to the meter and time synchronized interval meter data. The ChoiceConnect 100 system provides utilities with absolute flexibility. Utilities decide how to maximize their investment by choosing which data collection system is right for them; Hybrid (AMI/AMR), Fixed Network AMI, or a Mobile AMR system. With solutions from Itron, utilities can migrate to a fixed network data collection environment depending on what best fits the utilities current and future business needs.
