Instrument Management System

The Instrument Management System is a uniquely designed computer based system for managing and controlling Heath Gasurveyors (multifunction gas detectors/confined space monitors) and Personal Surveyors (personal confined space monitors).
The Most Cost Effective Solution to Gas Detection

The Instrument Management System is a uniquely designed computer based system for managing and controlling Heath Gasurveyors (multifunction gas detectors/confined space monitors) and Personal Surveyors (personal confined space monitors).

The IMS consists of a central IMS software package, up to 60 Depot Checkers (hardware), up to 3000 instruments (end users), and an optional Workshop System. The basic function of this system is to track, locate and verify the operation of your entire fleet of Gasurveyors in the most efficient manner possible. The IMS operates by centrally maintaining files which contain a complete record of instrument calibration and diagnostic test performed from remotely located Depot Checkers.

By uploading the data by modem on a regular basis, the Instrument Management System is the most effective process for ensuring that every instrument is maintained in accordance with the company's Operations and Maintenance Procedures.

DEPOT CHECKER
The Depot Checker is a self contained calibration verification and recalibration system designed for remote locations. The Depot Checker performs its functions in a fully automated manner, the field technician simply inserts the Heath Gasurveyor into the Depot Checker.

  • Calibrates instruments in four minutes to a certified gas standard
  • Tests voltage
  • Checks the flow of the pump
  • Looks for leaks in the flow path
  • Zeroes on clean air
  • Determines how many total hours an instrument has ever been used
  • Determines how many hours since the instrument was last calibrated
  • Logging permanent records of the instrument's test performance back to the IMS
Once the Depot Checker has run all its tests, a Pass (green) or Fail (red) light indicator will alert the user of the instrument's status.

WORKSHOP
The Workshop System is typically located in the repair center of a user and is used in conjunction with the IMS. When an instrument fails the Depot Checker diagnostic, the system allows an instrument technician the ability to test and diagnose instruments before repair, and to make any necessary adjustments, returning it to the field, with minimal downtime.

Total Lowest Cost of Ownership

  • Automation reduces possible errors of manual input
  • Automatically updates and stores all information for every instrument, reports ensure that every instrument is properly maintained keeping them in the field longer and extending the average life of the entire fleet
  • Automatic reports for individual and total population instrument data
  • Automatic exceptions reports are generated and faxed to notify a supervisor which instruments have not been calibrated or have failed diagnostic testing
  • Complete records available if documentation is ever needed
