Insta-Valve 250 Provides Added Control To Prevent Service Disruptions To Senior Care Center
The Oakmont Water Authority needed additional control points for the water service line to a senior care center and the main line in front of the Oakmont Country Club. With the existing control points, a water main break would result in water loss at the senior care center and necessitate notifying the Department of Environmental Protection. This scenario posed significant risks, including the disruption of critical services to vulnerable residents and potential regulatory complications.
To address these concerns, the Oakmont Water Authority took a proactive approach by installing two 8-inch and one 12-inch Insta-Valve 250 insertion valves. These strategically placed valves provide enhanced control over the water distribution system, allowing for targeted isolation of sections of the pipeline in the event of a break. This improvement not only prevents extensive service disruptions but also ensures that essential facilities like the senior care center can maintain water service during emergencies.
