Innovyze Releases ICMLive Generation V2.0, Setting Higher Standards For Real-Time Operational Forecasting And Management Of Urban And Rural Catchments

Latest Version Adds Enhancements to Power Decision Making Support for Complex CSO Projects and Reduce Projected Long-Term Capital, Operation and Maintenance Costs

Innovyze, a leading global innovator of business analytics software and technologies for smart wet infrastructure, today announced the worldwide release of the V2.0 Generation of its ICMLive for timely, accurate and reliable catchment forecasts. The new release will help water utilities and river authorities worldwide harness the power of real-time data, scenario planning, and predictive modeling to transform the operation and management of their collection systems and anticipate and mitigate the effects of extreme weather-related events.

A powerful risk assessment and real-time decision making tool, ICMLive enables managers and operators to consider the influence of a full range of catchment factors in the management of flooding and reduction of unregulated discharges; the optimization of storage and existing infrastructure, leading to savings on capital works; and the optimization of pumps to lower energy costs and reduce CO2 emissions. The software is designed to work automatically. Once a system is configured, real-time data is continually and automatically harvested and quality-checked. This data can be derived from a number of sources, including observed and forecasted radar rainfall, online water quality measurements, and ancillary structure and pump operation time series. Simulations are run automatically at a user-defined frequency drawing on the full hydrodynamic and technological capabilities of InfoWorks ICM, including one- and two-dimensional modeling techniques, real-time control, dynamic water quality analysis, and GPU-enhanced and remote simulation. Simulation frequency can change in response to user-defined conditions. For example, increased rainfall intensity can trigger a reduction in the interval between simulations.

Expanded modeling capabilities are a major aspect of the new release. Probability Distributed Model (PDM) and Simple Runoff Model (SRM) runoff models allow the transformation of rainfall and evaporation data to inflow at the catchment outlet, as along with globally applicable, continuous rainfall runoff for rivers. Version 2.0 also introduces the ability to send e-mail notifications in response to system alerts. Warnings or alerts may be generated during the forecast period within ICMLive, and are instantly displayed via its rich user interface, allowing system operators to see at a glance which areas need attention and what corrective actions might be taken. The new option allows the details for a particular alert to be sent to a specified e-mail address as well. This enables authorities to coordinate and manage response efforts and, over the longer term, enhance the ongoing efficiency of overall collection system management.

In this latest version, both the ICMLive Operator Client and the ICMLive Configuration Manager also benefit from a raft of layout, usability and performance enhancements. These include the addition of a “Simulation Schedule Window” providing an overview of automatic simulation runs such as the simulation state (current simulation and next simulation), trigger state and mode of operation. The window also enables direct access to simulation parameters and diagnostic logs, giving the operator seamless and convenient interaction with the system.
