Ozonia's Aquaray® Ultraviolet Disinfection System, long proven effective in wastewater disinfection for discharge, has been selected for multiple projects involving re-use applications such as irrigation. Projects range from 5.4 MGD to 18.5 MGD and are being built in various states and in Puerto Rico.

The Aquarary HO VLS (High Output Vertical Lamp System) houses 40 low pressure, high output ultraviolet lamps in a vertical open channel format for maximum inactivation of pathogens and viruses.

The technology reduces total coliform in accordance with the latest NWRI (National Water Research Institute) guidelines for wastewater re-use. "Not only can owners reuse/recycle disinfected wastewater with confidence using Aquaray technology, but reduced power consumption means re-use can take place with little added cost," says Geronimo Balallo, Technical Manager for IDI's ultraviolet disinfection system product line.

Balallo adds that operators like the Aquaray system because of its easy-to-change UV lamps and user-friendly electronic components. "Plant managers in all parts of the country are recognizing the disinfection efficiency and operation/maintenance savings achieved with IDI's Aquaray 40 High Output Vertical Lamp System."
