Hydro International To Showcase Grit Removal, Wet Weather Management Capabilities At WEFTEC Conference

Hydro International, a leading provider of environmentally sustainable products and innovative solutions that control and treat stormwater, wastewater and combined sewer overflows, will showcase its full line of products addressing grit removal and wet weather management at the WEFTEC 2009 conference in Orlando, Fla., on Oct. 10-14.

The WEFTEC conference, hosted by the Water Environment Federation, is the largest conference addressing water quality issues in North America. The annual event attracts more than 18,000 attendees and more than 1,000 exhibitors.

Hydro's exhibit booth will include displays highlighting its industry-leading grit-removal solutions including the Eutek HeadCell , an advanced grit separator for the removal of grit and sand from wastewater, potable water and industrial effluents; the Eutek Teacup, a versatile vortex separator suitable for grit removal and grit washing for flows less than 8 MGD; the Eutek SlurryCup , a highly efficient process used to capture, classify, and remove fine grit, sugar sand, and high density fixed solids from organic rich grit slurries, and both primary and secondary sludge; and the Eutek Grit Snail, a high-performing grit dewatering escalator.

Hydro's grit-removal displays also will showcase the Grit King, a hydrodynamic grit separator device that provides consistent grit quality with low residual volatile organic matter; the Grit Classifier, a secondary device which simultaneously dewaters grit; and the Decanter, a grit dewatering container suitable for smaller plants.

Hydro's wet weather management exhibit will focus on the company's full range of award-winning solutions for Combined Sewer Overflows. Hydro's CSO solutions include equipment to clean sewer overflows up to primary treatment equivalence and flow controls to manage wet weather flows for storage, separation and deep tunnel storage schemes. Key products on display will include the Reg-U-Flo Vortex Valve, a self-activating vortex flow control device that provides superior hydraulic performance over conventional flow regulators; the HeliScreen, a compact powered CSO screening system with the ability to operate under surcharged conditions; and the Hydro-Static Screen, a non-powered screening technology suitable for sites with infrequent overflows.

Hydro will be represented by an array of top executives and sector experts including CEO Steve Hides, Director of Innovation Robert Andoh, Chief Operating Officer Chris Williams, Wastewater Director of Operations Steve Tansley, Wastewater Applications Manager Adam Neumayer, Wastewater Engineering Manager Jeff Ginter, National Sales Manager Marcia Sherony, Wastewater Group Product Manager Keith Hutchings and Wastewater Marketing Specialist Ben Paetel.

"WEFTEC is a great showcase for the industry to share best practices in areas such as grit-removal, flow control and CSO mitigation that are critically important to our wastewater systems," Andoh said. "We look forward to meeting with people at WEFTEC and talking about how Hydro International's solutions can solve their problems in a cost-effective and environmentally sustainable way."
