High Performance Automatic Pressure Filter

Pneumapress Filter Corporation has introduces a series of automatic pressure filters designed for effective, variable capacity liquid/solids separation. Operation is described as simple. Slurry is pumped into a hydraulically operated filter chamber which rests on the filter media. Compressed air or gas forces liquid from the solids through the filter media and dries the cake, while clean filtrate is discharged from the bottom of the unit. The filtered solids can be washed with a small volume of wash liquid during the filter cycle. At the end of the cycle, the chamber is raised and the continuous filter media belt automatically discharges the dry cake into a tote box or onto a conveyor. The media belt is washed while it discharges the solids. No mechanical squeeze is necessary to produce dry washed solids or clean filtrate. Automatic feeding systems are available to introduce reagents, filter aids, flocculents, or other additives.

The heavy-duty, low-maintenance filter has few moving parts. One hydraulic cylinder opens and closes the filter chamber. A single hydraulic power unit powers the hydraulic cylinder and belt drive motor and incorporates the only electric motor in the system. The only consumable parts are scraper blades and a continuous filter media belt.
