Grundfos Joins ALLICE Alliance To Accelerate Industrial Decarbonization Through The 'Water-Energy Nexus' Concept
As the world's leading pump manufacturer and global provider of smart water and climate solutions, Grundfos partners with ALLICE Alliance to promote water and energy efficiency in industry.
Grundfos, a global leader in advanced pump and water solutions, announces its membership in ALLICE (Industrial Alliance for Competitiveness and Energy Efficiency). This strategic collaboration aims to accelerate industrial decarbonization by promoting the "water-energy nexus" concept - the fundamental interconnection between water and energy savings.
A commitment to low-carbon industry
By joining ALLICE, Grundfos strengthens its position as a key player in industrial energy transition. The company brings its unique expertise in water and energy efficiency solutions to the Alliance, emphasizing that water and energy savings are inseparable in industrial decarbonization.
"At Grundfos we recognise water as the indispensable source that it is and believe collaboration is at the heart of the answer. We’re ready with our solutions, the desire to build lasting partnership, and the determination to make a difference together,” had previously declared Inge Delobelle, CEO of the Industry Division, Grundfos.
Industrial water reuse: a major decarbonization lever
Grundfos highlights the relevance of industrial water reuse as a key solution for decarbonization. This practice, which involves treating and recycling wastewater from one industrial process for use in another, offers a triple advantage: reduced water and energy consumption, cost reduction, and operational resilience against growing resource constraints.
Grundfos' innovative approach, "reusing water before it becomes wastewater," allows manufacturers to maintain water in a closed loop with minimal energy and chemical investment. This method proves far less costly than traditional wastewater treatment.
"By leveraging intelligent industrial water solutions, end users not only reduce their water consumption, but also use less energy and generate savings year after year," emphasizes Therese Noorlander, Sustainability Director, Industry Division, Grundfos.
Grundfos solutions have already demonstrated their impact with numerous industrial clients. In the beverage sector, a collaboration with Grundfos enabled a company to reduce its water consumption by the equivalent of 120 Olympic pools annually, while cutting energy consumption by 60% and generating savings of over €1.2M per year.
Synergy for collaborative innovation
Grundfos' expertise in intelligent water solutions aligns perfectly with ALLICE's mission to federate and innovate for industrial decarbonization. This collaboration will help identify common needs among industrial players, initiate collaborative innovation projects, and develop differentiating solutions that reconcile technical, environmental, and economic challenges.
About ALLICE
Created in July 2018, ALLICE (Industrial Alliance for Competitiveness and Energy Efficiency) federates and innovates to decarbonize industry. Labeled as a pilot project by the Industry of the Future Alliance, supported by the French Ecological Transition Agency (ADEME) and the General Directorate for Enterprises (DGE) of the Ministry of Economy, ALLICE brings together all stakeholders in the sector to innovate collectively for industrial decarbonization.
