Gradiant Corporation Invites Industry To Test Innovative Wastewater Treatment Technology

Bidding process underway for 90-day demonstration of Gradiant’s containerized water desalination unit

As Gradiant Corporation maintains its focus on solving industrial wastewater treatment challenges with innovative technology, the company has announced a Request for Proposals to select a demonstration site for its Counterflow Reverse Osmosis (CFRO) process. CFRO is a proven membrane process for desalinating high total dissolved solids (TDS) waters or brines to minimize waste while producing fresh water. Consistent with its suite of wastewater treatment technologies, Gradiant’s CFRO offering will help industrial water users solve their most complex water treatment challenges.

Gradiant is seeking prospective end users interested in hosting a minimum 90-day demonstration of its containerized CFRO water desalination unit.

As industries increasingly adopt sustainable production practices, wastewater treatment has emerged as a growing priority to ensure safe discharge into the environment and the reuse of treated water in the manufacturing process. Ideally suited to treat complex waste streams resulting from textile and garment production, Gradiant’s CFRO technology provides a cost-effective alternative to expensive evaporation technologies.

Industrial end users interested in being considered for the demonstration site must provide the following information

  • Describe and quantify the current need for brine minimization or disposal.
  • Provide analysis of a brine stream with a minimum concentration of 50,000 ppm TDS.
  • Confirm availability of electrical power - 480V 3ph (or equivalent).
  • Site availability for a 40 foot containerized pilot.

The CFRO unit will treat up to 12 gpm (65 m3 /d) of waste, minimizing disposal while providing reusable product water. The system is designed to achieve a final brine concentration of up to 250,000 ppm TDS NaCl while operating at less than 1,000 psi (70 bar). Upon conclusion of the demonstration, Gradiant will work with the successful bidder to implement a full-scale brine concentration solution.

To submit interest, please send the requested information to communication@gradiant.com by May 22, 2018. A full Request for Proposals will be sent to interested parties in May 23, 2018.
