GF Piping Systems Introduces The Next Generation Of Signet Transmitters Featuring Multi-Parameter Capabilities, Modularity And Improved Display Visibility

GF Piping Systems is introducing the new Signet 9900 SmartPro Transmitter to offer value-added functionality while streamlining the instrumentation offering. Available January 2012, the new 9900 platform will provide a variety of innovative and enhanced features that can adapt to meet dynamic customer needs.
The Signet 9900 Transmitter, part of the new generation of the SmartPro Family of Instruments, provides a single-channel interface for multiple parameters including Flow, pH, ORP, Conductivity/Resistivity, Pressure, Temperature, Level, Salinity and more. The single-channel, multi-parameter capability and field-upgradable modularity allows distributors and OEMs to increase service levels while maintaining reduced inventories.
A key feature to the new device is its extra large (3.90" x 3.90") backlit display that allows visibility at 4-5 times the distance of other transmitters. This highly illuminated display and large characters reduce the risk of misreading or misinterpreting the displayed values. The display shows separate lines for units, main and secondary measurements as well as a dial-type digital bar graph. Other capabilities include relay and warning LEDs and an intuitive menu for easy programming.
Designed for complete flexibility, plug-in modules enable the unit to be easily adapted to meet changing customer needs. Optional modules include Relay, Direct Conductivity/ Resistivity, HART Communications (H COMM), and a PC configuration tool (PC COMM).
The HART communications module allows communication between the 9900 and any HART enabled device and allows users to remotely adjust the 4 and 20 mA settings.
The PC COMM software allows the 9900 transmitter to interface to a PC and can set the device to factory default settings for quick and easy programming or can allow for complete configuration. Input, output, and display settings including custom labeling can all be configured by the user and saved to a file for cloning the configuration to subsequent 9900 transmitters. The versatile transmitter also allows third-party 4 to 20 mA signals to be used as an input (optional 8058 module required).
"The 9900 was developed to provide many new features for customers while maintaining the value-added features they have come to expect from our ProcessPro and ProPoint lines," says Anant Babtiwale, GF Piping Systems' Instrumentation Product Manager. "This new platform streamlines the instrumentation product offering as a whole at all levels, providing ease of use, upgradeability, as well as simplified ordering and stocking."
The 9900 Smart Pro Transmitter is offered in both panel or field mount versions. Both configurations can run on 12 to 32 VDC power. The 9900 can also be loop powered with compatible sensors. Standards and approvals include NEMA 4X/IP65, CE, UL and China RoHS.
Its multi-parameter and modular capabilities make the unit well suited for a variety of applications including water and wastewater treatment, reverse osmosis, deionization, chemical dosing and delivery, metal and plastic finishing, fume scrubbers, cooling towers, and all types of filtration.
