Freshets & Mine Tailings Water Management

Source: Veolia Water Technologies

When mine tailings ponds are nearing capacity, the risk of overflowing the pond during the freshet period is very high; the possibility of releasing untreated pond tailings wastewater loaded with elevated TSS (total suspended solids) and metals, is a constant concern during this period. The extra capacity (volume) in ponds & pits is needed to allow for the increase in flows from rain and melting snow. Our mobile ACTIFLO® units can provide the additional capacity needed, and security for the mine operators.
