FilmTec Releases Newest Version Of ROSA Design Software
ROSA 6.0 continues to offer the features that best aid water filtration system design and it incorporates the newest FILMTEC™ seawater and brackish water elements, the highest quality reverse osmosis (RO) and nanofiltration (NF) elements available in the world.
Several significant improvements have been made to the software, which will allow RO and NF system designers to improve and maintain their operations more effectively and efficiently.
Among the more notable changes are the addition of Element Value Analysis (EVA) capability and the improvement of Temperature Correction Factor (TCF). EVA allows the user to compare projected system designs to determine the most economical option during the planning stages. Once the user specifies the projections to be compared, the key information is automatically populated in an EVA spreadsheet for easy analysis. The improvement of TCF provides more accurate salt rejection and feed pressure projections. Both capabilities have been engineered to facilitate the design and implementation of water purification systems.
In addition, the new version of ROSA has added a System Design Overview Report along with improving the Detailed Report. Both reports provide data for energy and power consumption, osmotic pressure and net driving pressure; however, the overview report provides a system summary and flow diagram, and the detailed report now includes individual stage composition of concentrate and permeate.
A new blending option capability eliminates the need to run two separate projections in order to obtain a blending design, and the blending permeate quality data can be easily accessed in the permeate quality spreadsheet. Second-pass scaling calculation is now available; previous versions of ROSA were only capable of providing calculations for first-pass scaling.
Users will enjoy easier navigation and fewer system interruptions with ROSA 6.0. Improved file management has been incorporated to minimize running errors with Microsoft™ Data Access Components (MDAC) files, and it is no longer necessary to have the ROSA 6.0 program running in order to open ROSA files. Also, to better accommodate the needs of our global customer base, reports can now be printed in Chinese and Spanish.
