Illegal Wastewater Discharges And The Importance Of Organics Monitoring In Municipal Sewer Networks

Unpredictable industrial dumping overloads municipal wastewater treatment systems, driving up utility costs. Continuous inline monitoring provides real-time visibility into shifting organic loads, enabling collection teams to catch contamination spikes early and protect downstream biological processes.

How To Get The Most Out Of Your Drum Screen

Duperon’s drum screen utilizes a blend of features that address major operator pain points, including wear-resistant parts and an easy-to-clean design.

Utility Combined Data From 22 Types Of Sources Into A Digital Twin To Monitor Its Water System In Real Time

Bentley’s water solutions helped build a unified management program to access data in the field, producing operation gains of 25%.

Formellino Wastewater Treatment Improves Plant Criticalities With Proficy HMI/SCADA

Transitioning from fixed-time processing to dynamic, sensor-driven automation optimizes wastewater treatment under fluctuating inflow conditions. Real-time chemical monitoring reduces energy consumption, protects biological processes, and prevents costly regulatory discharge violations.

Control Point Added To Airport Fire Suppression Line

Upgrading active fire protection lines in high-security facilities requires precision isolation without compromising system readiness. Live tap valve insertion creates permanent control points under line pressure, eliminating service disruptions during critical infrastructure overhauls.

What 15 Years Of AMI Experience Has Taught Utilities

Fifteen years after AMI adoption, utilities are redefining success by prioritizing proven reliability, trusted data, resilient networks, intuitive software, and long-term vendor partnerships.

The Water Compliance Gap

Paper-based water compliance systems force managers to spend up to 70% of their time on administration. Transitioning to automated workflows resolves communication gaps, improves compliance rates, and gives leadership comprehensive system visibility.

How to Improve Dewatering And Thickening Performance While A Facility Is Under Construction?

When infrastructure upgrades force system shutdowns, mobile rental treatment systems can maintain continuous sludge processing. Discover how specialized conditioning technology increased dry cake solids to 23% and lowered polymer consumption to secure six-figure operational savings.

5 Questions Utility Leaders Must Ask About Their AMI Strategy

By asking these five questions, water utilities can move beyond basic AMI connectivity toward a model of total operational control.

Reducing Complexity In Data Center Cooling Temperature Measurements

Endress+Hauser’s iTHERM SurfaceLine TM611 non-invasive temperature measurement performs comparably to traditional industrial thermometers with an elegant mechanical innovation.

Colorado River Conservation Depends On The Delivery System

The Department of the Interior issued the 2027-2028 Operating Guidelines, calling for Lower Basin deliveries to drop by 1.25 million acre-feet annually in 2027 and 2028, with a minimum of 700,000 acre-feet of additional voluntary conservation over those two years. While temporary reductions are a start, water districts and water professionals should also consider delivery upgrades and on-farm improvements in agricultural areas that prepare growers for a new reality with less water.
