Polyurea coatings are part of ControlTech coatings line for tank linings, secondary containment, and corrosion control

San Francisco - Sherwin-Williams Industrial and Marine Coatings group offers EnviroLastic Polyurea coatings for use in the water and wastewater industries as part of its ControlTech coatings line, which includes low-VOC coating systems for tank linings, secondary containment, and corrosion control.

Sherwin-Williams AR 520 PW Potable Water Polyurea is USDA-acceptable and NSF-approved to ANSI-NSF 61 Standard for potable water storage. The zero VOC, no-odor coating dries tack-free in as little as 45 seconds. The coating may be applied at temperatures as low as -20°F. It offers excellent adhesion and may be used in both primary and secondary containment applications, and as an alternative to fiberglass liners and other mat reinforced systems.

EnviroLastic Polyurea AR 425 is a 100% solids, spray applied, USDA-acceptable aromatic polyurea coating and lining system that exhibits extraordinary toughness and elastomeric performance characteristics. It can be applied at thicknesses of 30-250 mils or greater in a single application. The fast cure, no-VOC, no odor coating bridges moving cracks to 1/8-in. and retains its physical properties at -20°F to 250°F.

Engineered for use on concrete or steel tanks, floors, drains, clarifiers, sumps and slabs, EnviroLastic Polyurea coatings are high-build, rapidly drying finishes that allow coated substrates to be returned to use in just minutes, significantly reducing downtime. The coatings combine tensile strength and elongation properties with low permeability and high impact resistance, making them ideal where a tough, flexible liner is needed.

EnviroLastic Polyurea coatings are ideal liners for most water tanks, including salt water, and can withstand most chemical gasses produced at waste treatment plants. The coatings are also recommended for lining large diameter pipes, manholes, clear wells and process tanks for potable water and non-potable water, basins and reservoirs, lift stations and reserve fire water tanks. Sherwin-Williams maintains a list of certified contractors for application of EnviroLastic Polyurea coatings.
