ENVIRO-AIRE Replacement System Installed At Community Park

Pelican Park in Mandeville, Louisiana, is a 550-acre community park featuring 32 athletic fields, two gyms, a 46,000-square-foot multipurpose community center, an 18-hole disc golf course, and parking for more than 1,700 vehicles. With more than one million visitors each year, reliable wastewater treatment is essential to park operations.

Nearly 35 years ago, the community installed a 3,000 GPD ENVIRO-AIRE Package Wastewater Treatment Plant to serve the park. After decades of service, the aging aboveground steel tanks had reached the end of their life cycle. Outdated preparation and coating methods had contributed to significant rust, and the tank had developed several patches.

Because park staff were satisfied with the performance and longevity of the existing system, they chose to replace it with a new ENVIRO-AIRE Package Wastewater Treatment Plant. The familiar design allowed the park team to transition to the replacement system with minimal disruption while benefiting from updated construction and coating methods.

ENVIRO-AIRE systems are custom designed to meet the wastewater treatment requirements of each location and can provide treatment in areas beyond the reach of municipal wastewater systems. Factory-built as self-contained units, the systems are shipped to the site and require minimal assembly.

Installation and startup of Pelican Park’s new system were completed smoothly in early 2021. The replacement plant is operating as expected and provides reliable wastewater treatment for a busy community destination serving more than 12,000 visitors on a typical Saturday and approximately one million visitors annually.
