Ecovation And Biotim Sign License Agreement

Ecovation will be exclusive provider of proprietary technologies in North America

Victor, NY — Ecovation, Inc. announced today that it has entered into an exclusive license agreement with Biotim N.V., Willebroek, Belgium, to sell the company's anaerobic wastewater treatment technologies in the United States, US Territories, Canada*, and Mexico.

Biotim is the leading supplier of anaerobic treatment systems in Europe. With nearly 200 installations worldwide, the company primarily serves food and beverage industries. The company's cornerstone technology, the Biotim® UASB (upflow anaerobic sludge blanket), incorporates a proprietary three-phase settler design with cross-flow modules that are highly effective in retaining biomass within the reactor. Ecovation's patented Mobilized Film Technology (MFTSM) delivers a high rate treatment alternative for a variety of waste streams in the food and beverage industries. "Our agreement with Biotim will allow Ecovation to offer our clients a broader range of complementary technologies to suit their specific waste treatment needs," said Ecovation's Chairman and CEO, Diane C. Creel. "It enhances our expertise in wastewater treatment and opens the door to new sales opportunities."

"We are a natural fit with Ecovation because we are both focused specifically on anaerobic wastewater treatment," said Stefan Pousset, Managing Director for Biotim.
