Drinking Water Intelligence Firmly In The Spotlight At World Water Congress

At the International Water Association’s (IWA) World Water Congress in Glasgow, Kohtari CEO, James Sumsion highlighted the benefits of water companies being able to see multiple risk factors together, so that they can understand exactly which ones are changing, and decide where action is needed - before issues become incidents.
Kohtari’s Sumsion joined the Innovation Panel led by Martin Jackson (Chief Information Officer at Northumbrian Water Group), and also played a key part on the Digital Water Stage, hosted by Oliver Grievson.
During a separate Business Forum session, and across conversations on the Kohtari stand, there was also significant interest and discussion about Kohtari’s new drinking water intelligence platform, WaterIQ, which brings fragmented data together so that data-driven decisions can help solve the biggest drinking water challenges.
At the Congress, which attracts thousands of leading professionals and companies from across the global water sector, Kohtari were in discussions about how intelligence is enabling water companies to switch to predicting, for example, algal blooms, rather than just react to them.
James Sumsion, who as Kohtari’s CEO, has been steering the company to bring together environmental, weather and water quality inputs, along with historical records and optional drone observations, said:
“Our participation at the IWA’s World Water Congress was very timely, especially with us winning our first project in America. We thoroughly enjoyed many lively conversations with fellow water industry professionals about how AI and machine learning can change how data is used, and how that shift becomes most valuable when applied to complex, fast-changing risks.”
