Double Handle Hydrant Wrench Works Faster, Easier

A new double handle, ratcheting hydrant wrench from Lowell Corporation lets water utility workers open and close hydrants faster, more easily, and with greater safety.

The Model 252F Hydrant Wrench is designed to loosen and tighten operating nuts on US-style hydrants. The dedicated tool is 33 inches long and is available with three different size pentagonal sockets: 1-1/2", 1-3/4", and 2". A thumb screw lets a user fit the socket snugly on all nuts.

The 252F was designed to give workers maximum versatility and the ability to apply additional force when needed. The wrench is suitable for use by one operator and may be used by two workers to turn especially difficult hydrant operating nuts. During flushing operations, the ratcheting action makes the wrench much faster and easier to use than non-ratchet types and can save valuable time in emergency situations.

Safety is another important feature as the product's design allows the user to always face the roadway when working.

A reversing control located in the head of the wrench reverses the action safely and conveniently and is semi-enclosed to protect against fouling.

The wrench handles and sockets have heavy-duty construction and are coated with electrostatic epoxy paint for durability and easy cleaning. The handle is a bright yellow color that makes it easier to locate the tool in storage or at a work site.

Like all Lowell wrenches, the Model 252F Hydrant Wrench is guaranteed against defects in material and workmanship for a period of one year from date of delivery.
