Crawler Parts
In 1984, the company trade name was changed to HEAVYQUIP, and the name Jackson Tractor parts was discontinued. The main reason for the change was to indicate to customers that the company sells parts and service for more than just crawler equipment, and that we offer service on the complete range of construction equipment. Crawler Parts, Inc., however, is still the legal name of HEAVYQUIP.
HEAVYQUIP has an IBM A/S 400 RISC computer using state of the art programming for real time inventory control and accounting. All branches and several dealers are tied together using frame relay and the internet to put together the largest computerized inventory in the industry. Today, HEAVYQUIP is the largest independent retail construction parts and service company in North America, with full service shops located throughout the Southeastern United States capable of doing all types of heavy equipment repair. Our primary retail coverage is in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Missouri, Kansas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. HEAVYQUIP also conducts wholesale business in all of the Americas, including Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central and South America.
Most imported parts are brought into Jackson, Mississippi through the Port of New Orleans, and then redistributed to our branches and wholesale customers using weekly stock orders. Most domestically purchased parts also come to Jackson for redistribution. HEAVYQUIP sales are about half in undercarriage and the other half in a variety of parts, including ground engaging tools, engines, transmissions, other power train parts and labor. Our current suppliers for parts are located in the United States, Canada, Italy, Germany, Spain, Austria, Brazil, Australia, Thailand, China, Korea and Japan.
