Tnemec Company, Inc., a leader in high-performance coatings, proudly announces that the water tank in College Station, Texas, has been voted the People’s Choice Award winner in the 2024 Tank of the Year competition. This distinguished award automatically places the College Station tank among the top 12 finalists, all of whom will be featured in Tnemec’s annual water tank calendar alongside the overall Tank of the Year winner.

"The College Station water tank is a vibrant landmark, which truly showcases the school spirit and pride that is evident in fans of the Aggies both far and wide," said Brian Cheshire, Director of the Water Tank Market. "The water tower at Fitch Parkway and Highway 6 not only captures the essence of the university but it also highlights the hometown pride that residents of College Station can truly get behind."

This year, over 320 water tanks were nominated, and over 17,000 online votes were cast from across the U.S. and Canada. A panel of water tank enthusiasts will select the 2024 Tank of the

Year winner based on artistic value, community significance, and project challenges. The winner will be announced later this month.

"Since 2006, Tnemec has been recognizing municipalities for their aesthetic, creative, and innovative uses of our high-performance coatings on water storage tank projects," added

Cheshire. "This year’s finalists showcase a remarkable variety of water tanks in diverse shapes and sizes, each notable for its unique qualities and the stories they tell about their communities."

The 2024 Tank of the Year will be featured in January in Tnemec’s 2025 water tank calendar, with all finalists and nominees highlighted in subsequent months.
