Cobalt Water Global Announces 'We Can Stop N2O Emissions Challenge'

Initiative Aims to Kickstart Wastewater N2O Mitigation Actions and Impact With Free Access to AI/Machine Learning N2O Mitigation Platform

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) - With unprecedented urgency and momentum shifting to climate action in the water sector, today, Cobalt Water Global announced its launch of its We Can Stop N2O Emissions Challenge. Cobalt Water Global is an artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) company that leverages deep knowledge of urban water systems to drive smarter and more sustainable urban water management.

With a goal of reducing nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions equal to 25k metric tons of CO2 through its N2ORisk DSS platform by September, 2022, the Challenge invites water utilities, industries with nitrogen-laden wastewater, and consultants supporting water resource recovery facilities (WRRFs) to participate. The N2ORisk DSS is the first and only comprehensive commercial solution to help account for, report, assess, mitigate and monitor WRRF facility N2O emissions. Those selected will gain free access to the platform for mitigating select sites.

“N2O is a powerful GHG and can make up eighty percent of a WRRF's carbon footprint, however most of these facilities do not have visibility into how much N2O is emitted from their plants, or how to reduce their N2O emissions,” said Jose Porro, Founder and CEO of Cobalt Water Global. “Further, options including carbon removal technologies, renewable energy options, GHG offsets and even planting trees are cost-prohibitive for many and do not actually reduce N2O, which also depletes the ozone layer. By offering our tool for free, select participants will be able leverage AI to combine our expert knowledge on N2O with machine learning to predict N2O emissions, optimize the process, and finally begin to reduce N2O. It is our hope that our N2O Emissions Challenge will help kickstart much needed N2O reductions, and turn talk into action -- and impact.”

Qualified participants will be able to offer a minimum amount of data and pledge a commitment to physically measure baseline N2O and reductions within a few months of being selected. Visit here to learn more.

About N2ORisk DSS
Cobalt Water Global’s N2ORisk DSS platform is the first and only comprehensive commercial solution that helps account for, report, assess, mitigate and monitor wastewater treatment facility N2O emissions. The N2ORisk DSS uses artificial intelligence (AI) to combine expert knowledge on N2O and machine learning (ML) to quickly quantify emissions, properly optimize the treatment process, and eliminate N2O. By focusing on and actually reducing N2O, water utilities can more effectively reduce their carbon footprint. The N2ORisk DSS also improves process efficiency and stability, which can also save money. The N2ORisk DSS is an efficient, effective and affordable solution for water utilities.
