The City of Moline has awarded the UV contract to Engineered Treatment Systems LLC of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. The system will consist of 8 of the ETS SX 635-16 drinking water reactors each installed after an existing filter within the drinking water facility.
Beaver Dam, WI (PRWEB) - The Utility serves a population of 43,500 people and the drinking water plant is fed by the Mississippi River. This source in turn draws water from an 85,000 square mile agricultural watershed; so a robust disinfection barrier is essential. The City carefully examined a variety of disinfection methods, including Ozone and Membrane technologies. UV technology was substantially less than both technologies in capital cost and annual operating costs.
ETS UV systems are third party validated in accordance with the US EPA Guidance manual, and are manufactured at the ETS production facility in Beaver Dam, WI.
Commenting on the award, Greg Swanson, Moline Utilities General Manager stated “The City is pleased to have ETS as our partner for this important project. We have found the ETS team to be knowledgeable, responsive, and goal oriented during the multi-year process that lead to the selection of the ETS SX 635-16 reactors for our demanding drinking water application. Their technical expertise and communication skills have played a crucial role in working with our consultant partner and satisfying the design requirements of our primacy agency.”
