Now You Have A Choice – Finally, a safe alternative to the cadmium method of testing Nitrate!

Calverton, VA — Never before has there been a low range, ampoule-based, cadmium free method of testing Nitrate in water. New from CHEMetrics, a Zinc Reduction Method developed to eliminate the use of cadmium and the treatments involved. Toxicity and safety are no longer a concern and hazardous waste is eliminated. The revolutionary instrumental test has tighter precision and less scatter than any other test of its kind on the market today and the kit contains everything needed to perform 30 tests in just two minutes. This stable, field portable kit can even be used with seawater. As always, with CHEMetrics' test kits, there's never any chemical contact. We make our kits safe so you've got it easy.

The Zinc Reduction Method
Nitrate is reduced to nitrite using zinc as the reducing agent. The resulting nitrate concentration is then determined colorimetrically.

This method is applicable to industrial wastewaters, drinking, and surface waters. These test kits can also be used for the analysis of seawater. This method will measure nitrate in the presence of low levels of nitrite (by difference). Results are expressed as ppm (mg/L) NO3-N. The test kits that employ this method include sample tubes that are pre-dosed with zinc reagent, so the awkward use of foil packs is eliminated.

NEW Cadmium Free Nitrate visual test kits are available for evaluation at no charge. Contact nocadmium@chemetrics.com.
