Characterization and Remediation of NAPL

Several Senior Technical Staff authored the USEPA's guidance manual for investigation and remediation of NAPL-impaired properties entitled "DNAPL Site Evaluation". As a result of this in-house expertise, GeoTrans technical staff understand the complexities associated with collecting data to characterize NAPL sites. This includes "outside in" and "top down" approach to infer NAPL presence and to avoid the potential for further mobilizing contaminants. Such evaluation provides information required to design optimal physical containment systems to deal with contamination source areas and to estimate the appropriate parameters for intrinsic remediation.
