CeraMem® ceramic membranes are a large-area, highly compact technology featuring a combination of unique materials of construction and proprietary membrane chemistry. Utilized mainly for large-capacity ultrafiltration (UF) and micro-filtration (MF) applications, CeraMem technology is designed for harsh operating environments.

CeraMem® ceramic membranes are a large-area, highly compact membrane technology featuring a combination of unique materials of construction and proprietary membrane chemistry.  Utilized mainly for large-capacity ultrafiltration (UF) and micro-filtration (MF) applications, CeraMem technology from Veolia Water Technologies is designed for harsh operating environments unsuitable for polymeric membranes.

These environments include process streams with elevated operational temperatures, oily water, applications prone to heavy fouling, the presence of elevated solids, or pH extreme environments not suitable for polymeric membranes.

CeraMem ceramic membranes are ideal for difficult effluents streams such as:

  • Produced water treatment
  • Industrial laundry wastewater treatment
  • MF and UF applications from Fischer-Tropsch reactions
  • Alkaline cleaner recovery
  • Precipitated metals removal (hydroxide, sulfide, etc.)
  • Industrial effluent membrane bioreactors (MBR)

Features and Benefits include:

  • Very high membrane packing density in large-diameter membrane elements leads to life cycle costs competitive with most polymeric membranes
  • Membrane elements inert to all solvents
  • Ability to process highly abrasive feed streams without deterioration of membrane or supports
  • Low holdup volume, minimizing loss of product during flushing and cleaning
  • Pre-engineered, modular systems with flexible options, configurations  and flowrates
