Centrisys Secures Order From Robert W. Hite Treatment Facility In Denver, CO For Eight Decanter Centrifuges

Midwest-based Centrisys Corporation will provide eight American-made decanter centrifuges for the Metro Wastewater Reclamation District’s Robert W. Hite Treatment Facility in Denver, CO.

Centrisys Corporation, a leading North American manufacturer of decanter and thickening centrifuges and dewatering systems, announced that shipping preparations are underway for an order for eight CS26-4 decanter centrifuges from the Metro Wastewater Reclamation District (“Metro District”) in Denver, CO. The new centrifuges will replace aging equipment and will support increased performance and capacity at the Robert W. Hite Treatment Facility, as the district moves into a new biological phosphorous removal process.

“As Denver moves to a biological phosphorus removal process, sludge becomes more difficult to dewater,” said Michael Kopper, president and chief executive officer of Centrisys. “Only decanter centrifuges offering a smaller footprint design and higher capacity were considered. I am confident the upgrade to our CS26-4 decanter centrifuges, along with the biological phosphorus solution provided by our partner company CNP, will meet the facility’s needs for better performance, higher capacity, less maintenance, and a focus on service and support.”

Centrisys worked closely with Lakewood, CO environmental consultants Brown and Caldwell on the plant’s new centrifuge design layout. All units will be designed, engineered, and built in the United States at Centrisys’ Kenosha, WI-based facilities.

The Centrisys CS26-4 decanter centrifuge offers:

  • Smallest footprint of centrifuges in its size specification
  • Feed capacity up to 400gpm
  • Lowest installed combined HP (150HP) in its size specification
  • Increased solids handling, reduced polymer consumption
  • USA centrifuge service and repair facilities
  • Highest G-volume and torque capacity

Established in 1961, the Metro District’s first facility, the Robert W. Hite Treatment Facility, is the largest in the Rocky Mountain West with the capacity to treat 220 million gallons per day and serves an estimated 2 million people across 60 local governments and special Colorado districts.

Following the installation of two Centrisys CS26-4 decanter centrifuges in the Metro District’s Northern Plant two years ago, which currently treat and reclaim 4.5 million gallons per day with a daily capacity for 24 million gallons, Centrisys continues to support the Metro District’s initiatives to find the most sustainable management approach to reducing effluent phosphorous levels in the environment.
