CDM Smith Selected To Design And Build Industrial Wastewater Pretreatment System For Lubrizol

CDM Smith was recently selected by The Lubrizol Corporation, a specialty chemicals company, to provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for a $16M industrial wastewater pretreatment system at Lubrizol’s Deer Park, Texas facility. The project supports a larger expansion at the facility, where Lubrizol is building a new Polyisobutylene unit.

“CDM Smith is excited to continue supporting growth throughout the Gulf Coast, and we’re proud to be supporting Lubrizol’s facility expansion, delivering infrastructure upgrades that our team began designing in 2016,” said Kevin Molloy, Houston-based CDM Smith vice president and client service leader for petrochemical clients.

CDM Smith’s team is tasked with installing pretreatment upgrades to treat wastewater streams from existing and future manufacturing operations. These upgrades include two new American Petroleum Institute oil-water separators, a screening system, one stormwater surge tank, a new process lift station and sludge/slop oil tanks, as well as upgrades to an existing lift station.
