Case Study: Groundwater DWTP (NJ) – DEXSORB Full-Scale

Cyclopure was invited to replace ion exchange resin to remove PFAS from groundwater at a groundwater pump station, located in NJ. The decision to replace IXR was due to poor PFAS removal caused by manganese fouling.
New Jersey DEP granted approval of DEXSORB based on prior pilot demonsrations. The system is designed to operate at 100gpm flow rate with a total EBCT of 8 minutes.
EPA regulatory PFAS were measured with a total concentration of 85.8 ppt, including 52.65 ppt of PFOS. Since installation in July 2025, the DEXSORB vessel system has shown smooth hydraulics with low pressure drop and complete removal of EPA PFAS6 to non-detect levels (< 2 ppt).
