Carter & VerPlanck, Inc. is a manufacturer's representative providing valves, pumps, controls, and process equipment for the water and wastewater industry.

The business was founded in 1926 by Henry G. Carter. Mr. Carter was joined by his son-in-law, James (Jim) VerPlanck in August of 1953. The business then became known as "Carter & VerPlanck, Inc." Jim became the CEO upon Mr. Carter's death in 1959 and stayed active until his retirement in 1985. Jim's son, George "Buz" VerPlanck, began working with the company in 1971 and became the current CEO in 1984.

Since 1995, Carter & VerPlanck, Inc. has taken more of a full service approach to the municipal customer by adding several process lines to its offerings. This was possible with the addition of registered Engineers with process backgrounds.
