Business Stream Strengthens Board With New Appointment

Forsyth Black _

Water retailer Business Stream has appointed experienced aviation and distribution sector professional, Forsyth Black, to its Board as a Non-Executive Director.

Forsyth is currently a Non-Executive Director at Aberdeen Harbour Board, having previously been Chief Executive Officer of John Menzies Plc where he was responsible for overseeing its move away from its traditional markets to become a pure-play aviation services business and successfully completing the largest acquisition in the company’s history. Under his tenure, the company enjoyed a significant period of growth and delivered successful, large-scale transformation programmes, which included the rollout of innovative technologies across the UK and the globe.

Before becoming Chief Executive, Forsyth held various senior positions at Menzies Aviation Plc and John Menzies Plc, including being President and Managing Director of Menzies Aviation Plc, one of the world’s leading aviation services companies.

Dame Susan Rice, Chair of Business Stream, said: “We’re delighted to have appointed a business leader of Forsyth’s standing and experience to the Board at Business Stream. His experience of working in the highly-regulated airline industry and in delivering large-scale transformation programmes will undoubtedly prove an invaluable asset to the company. We are all looking forward to working with him.”

Speaking of his appointment, Forsyth Black said: “I am excited to be joining the Board at Business Stream. I was drawn to Business Stream’s vision, it’s a progressive organisation with a strong sense of purpose and an ambitious business strategy. I’m looking forward to working with the Board and Senior Leadership Team and playing my part to achieve even more together”.

Business Stream’s other Non-Executive Directors include Forth Port’s Chief Operating Officer, Stuart Wallace, and Dr Michelle Hynd, Separation and Migration Director at SSE plc.

To date, Business Stream has helped its customers save more than £272M in discounts and water and energy efficiencies. As passionate advocates of water efficiency, the retailer has also helped its customers save over 49 billion litres of water – the equivalent of nearly 20,000 Olympic-sized filled swimming pools.

The company recently announced that it has secured a UK-wide contract with one of the world’s largest oil and gas supermajors, Shell.
