Beckman Coulter, Inc. introduces the Φ400 and 500Series pH and Electrochemistry Meters and a full line of corresponding probes and electrodes. The new meters measure pH, mV, ISE, dissolved oxygen (DO), conductivity, salinity and total dissolved solids (TDS). The corresponding probes and electrodes come in multiple lengths, body materials and styles to address all types of sample media. Beckman Coulter's new Calomel pHree electrodes for biological applications are included in this portfolio. These environmentally friendly electrodes deliver Calomel-comparable performance without the use of mercury.

The Φ400 series handheld and 500 series benchtop meters are each offered in six different versions to meet diverse single- or multi-parameter measurement needs. Available measurement configurations include: pH/mV; Dissolved Oxygen; Conductivity/Salinity/TDS; pH/mV+ISE; pH/mV+Conductivity/Salinity/TDS; and pH/mV+ISE+DO+Conductivity/Salinity/TDS.

All handheld models feature Bluetooth connectivity for wireless data transfer to a PC, and a unique IP67 waterproof design that allows the meter to float in water. Benchtop meters include USB connectivity in all models along with Bluetooth technology in multi-parameter models. Common to all models in the Φline are a full numeric keypad for easy GLP/GMP compliant operation and an ergonomic design highlighted by thumb-grips for comfortable use. They feature up to five-point calibration, 999 data point/logging capability, battery or AC operation, and Beckman Coulter's three-year warranty.

The Φ400 and 500Series pH and Electrochemistry Meters can be used in a wide range of applications, including water quality analysis, industrial monitoring, food and beverage applications, and biological sample analysis. They are GLP/GMP compliant and can interface with LIMS systems for 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.

The pH meter was invented by Arnold Beckman in 1935 and was Beckman Coulter's first product. "We are excited to revolutionize electrochemistry…again." commented Kenny Abell, product manager for Beckman Coulter. "Technological features such as Bluetooth connectivity, coupled with our ergonomic and thoughtful design, put the advanced functionality of these meters at the users' fingertips."
