Presented at Connect Florida, award honors individuals and businesses for their contributions to Florida’s economic development.
BCR Environmental Corporation (BCR), a proven innovator of technologies for the advanced treatment and conversion of wastewater and organic waste, recently announced that President and CEO Aaron Zahn was awarded the Governor’s Business Ambassador Award by Florida Governor Rick Scott at Connect Florida’s Day @ the Capital 2016 event sponsored by Connect Florida.
Commenting about the award, Zahn, a world leader in wastewater and organic waste recycling infrastructure, said, “I’m truly honored—both personally and professionally—by this recognition for the strides we’re (BCR) making in helping Florida become first in the nation for job growth while also improving the environment. The award is a testament of the accomplishments and commitment to excellence of each of our employees.”
Zahn has counseled the U.S. EPA, World Health Organization, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, and state and local leaders on the economic and environmental impacts of innovation in wastewater and organic waste infrastructure. Under his leadership, BCR has attracted more than $40M of corporate private equity investment to Florida and completed over $180M in public-private-partnerships. The partnerships have reduced the annual operating costs for city’s sludge management by an average of 40 percent, eliminated more than 18,000 megawatts per year of energy consumption, addressed environmental issues such as nutrient pollution reduction, and provided for 500,000 tons per year of biosolids and organics waste recycling. BCR is the only company in the world to work with the U.S. EPA to develop new, certified technologies for the treatment of organic waste into marketable products since 1987.
About BCR Environmental
BCR Environmental Corporation (BCR) is a U.S. -based developer of innovative, scalable, economical, and environmentally advantageous wastewater treatment and conversion technologies. BCR’s patented solutions—CleanB, CleanB-AC and Neutralizer—are EPA -approved technologies for binding nutrients into and reducing biosolid mass for the creation and beneficial reuse of high-quality marketable end products. Filling a centuries-old gap left by traditional technologies, BCR technologies simplify and enhance disinfection, stabilization, deodorization and reduction of biosolid and organic waste mass. In addition, they reduce energy consumption by approximately 95 percent and reduce nutrient pollution. The reduced footprint needed for wastewater treatment and organic waste/biosolids management help reduce or eliminate the need for costly plant expansions to meet increasing demand, and allow existing plants to repurpose tanks for storm water run-off, reuse water storage and other operational benefits.
