Baffle System Brochure

NEFCO Inc.released a brochure on the Stamford Density Current Baffle System. It is designed to intercept and dissipate currents and redirect their flow back into the main clarification volume of the tank, increasing hydraulic capacity and reduction in total suspended solids.

The baffle is curved to match the curvature of the tank, and its specific dimensions, deflection angle and location within the tank enable the baffler to rid itself of sludge backup. The baffle itself is comprised of individual baffle modules manufactured of corrosion-resistant fiberglass. Each module is a one-piece molded unit consisting of the baffle panel, bracket and mounting and stiffening flanges.

The baffle modules are attached to the wall of the tank, or cantilevered from the inboard launder, with stainless steel anchors. Sections of the baffle may be cut as required to fit around piping and other obstructions.
