The Point-of-Use Arsenic Removal System is installed in the lower level of the house or under the kitchen sink. It receives and filters water from the cold water line (following the water softener if applicable). This System is comprised of three cartridges connected in series. Flow rate through the three cartridges is controlled by a flow restrictor. The first cartridge contains a Sediment removal/Activated Carbon filter, which removes larger particulates such as rust and scale. The next two cartridges contain ATS proprietary arsenic removal media. Cartridge two contains Oxidation Media (to oxidize Arsenic III to Arsenic V). Cartridge three contains Arsenic Adsorption Media. Treated water from Cartridge three flows to a pressure/holding tank. Water flows on demand from the pressure/holding tank at a flow rate of 0.5 to 1.0 gallons per minute through an in-line Activated Carbon Filter, to a dedicated faucet installed at the kitchen sink and a dedicated line to the ice-maker in the kitchen (if applicable). The System is instrumented with a Performance Indication Device which indicates when the cartridges need to be replaced.
