ArxZyme™ Acetone Removal For AMPAC Fine Chemicals

1500368452-molecule

AMPAC Fine Chemicals (AMPAC) is a leading contract manufacturing organization specializing in complex organic synthesis, primarily for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. The facility handles various hazardous chemicals, including acetone — a common solvent with significant environmental and regulatory concerns. AMPAC faced a critical challenge with acetone management. The high acetone levels in the effluent from its chemical processing operations required an effective industrial wastewater treatment solution to meet environmental regulations and ensure safe discharge.

AMPAC partnered with WWW™ ARXTERA to develop a treatment solution using our ArxZyme™ Bioaugmentation technology for the sequential batch reactor (SBR). Within six to eight days of implementing this treatment, acetone levels in the SBR effluent dropped to non-detectable levels. The use of these technologies not only addressed AMPAC’s acetone challenge but also demonstrated the efficacy of advanced microbial and enzymatic solutions in industrial applications. By adopting these cutting-edge solutions, AMPAC continues to reinforce its commitment to environmental stewardship and operational excellence, setting a benchmark for the chemical manufacturing industry.
