Aquatronics Industries, Inc. Announces Zero Discharge Laundry System
For the past twenty years, Aquatronics has provided effective solutions to a diverse base of commercial and industrial customers with remediation equipment and services for the removal of impurities and waste by-products. Recently, a coin-operated laundry contracted Aquatronics to assist with their wastewater discharge remediation problems. Typically, coin-operated laundries address only some 70% to 80% of their wastewater discharge resulting in a 20% to 30% discharge of non-recycled wastewater. The EPA gave the laundry an order to shut down ("cease and desist") operations until an adequate optional discharge arrangement could be made. Aquatronics' design capabilities and engineering expertise provided the laundry owner with a closed-loop "zero discharge" design system allowing for a 100% wastewater recycling and reuse concept, thus reducing the possibility of closure by the EPA or local regulatory agencies.
The cost effectiveness of the "zero discharge" design can provide a return of the capital investment in the Aquatronics' system within an acceptable period of time, usually less than 12 months. These systems typically sell for a minimum of $80,000.00 for a coin-operated laundry and up to $175,000.00 per unit for a commercial laundry.
Howard Schachter, President of Aquatronics Industries, Inc., said, "With the successful results obtained from our first ever closed-loop ‘zero discharge' laundry installation and the input of knowledge from installing this system, additional systems are now being modeled for multiple installations in other parts of the United States and Canada where water is not only a costly commodity, but also, wastewater disposal is posing serious limitations on commercial and industrial users. We are currently preparing to meet rising demand for this type of system."
