Aqua Pennsylvania Announces Appointment Of Alicia Beauchamp To Chief Of Organic Chemistry In Environmental Lab

Aqua Pennsylvania announced the promotion of Alicia Beauchamp to the position of chief of organic chemistry within its environmental laboratory. In her new role, Beauchamp supervises a team of chemists who analyze water samples for volatile organic compounds, trihalomethanes, taste and odor compounds and per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).

“Ensuring safe water and protecting public health and the environment are at the heart of everything we do at Aqua, and Alicia has played an important role in fulfilling our mission throughout her career,” said Christine Brisbin, director of Aqua’s environmental laboratory. “Alicia is committed to providing the best possible service to our customers, and she has the skills and experience to help us continue to address rapidly changing developments in chemistry and the environment.”

Employees in Aqua’s new, state-of-the-art environmental laboratory conduct about 90,000 water quality tests a year.

Beauchamp joined Aqua in 1998 when she started her first of three terms as a co-op student in the water treatment department. She began her career as a chemist in Aqua’s water quality laboratory in 2001 and joined the organic chemistry section with a focus on PFAS analysis in 2018. Beauchamp is a graduate of Drexel University with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and has a Master of Science degree in chemistry from Villanova University.
