Case Study: Anaerobic Wastewater Treatment For The Pulp And Paper Industry

Xinxiang Xinya Group Co. Ltd. is located in Xinxiang Henan Pepoles Republic of Chine and is one of Chine's new pulp producer. The mill has applied Andritz's APMP process to produce pulp with a capacity of 300 ADMT/day from Aspen wood. Biothane has been awarded the contract for the anaerobic Biobed® EGSB technology whicvh curently has become standard for pulp and paper industry worldwide. The wastewater contains high COD and Sulphate (SO4) concentrations which is an advantage for the anaerobic process. The wastewater treatment plant consists of three stages also; pre treatment for equalization and solids removal, anaerobic treatment to remove the bulk of the COD, existing aerobic post treatment for final polishing the anaerobic sefluent to meet the effluent limits.
