AMWA's Water Policy Conference Will Feature Interactive Panels On Climate Change, Lead Service Line Removal

As AMWA’s 2024 Water Policy Conference (WPC) is four weeks away, there is still time to register for the must-attend policy gathering for water utility executives. The WPC provides an opportunity for participants to engage with senators, representatives, top officials in the Biden Administration, and peers to hear about policy insights that will shape utility operations and management for the year.

This year’s program is power-packed, featuring sessions on pertinent topics including two interactive panel discussions on:

  • The Climate Change Action Panel will bring together federal officials and water utility leaders to discuss incentives available to water utilities to address climate change. The panel includes Kristen Atha, Director of the City of Columbus, and Zach Schafer, Senior Advisor of the Office of Water.
  • The Lead Service Line Removal Panel will discuss components to build and implement a successful lead service line replacement program. Confirmed panelists include Cathy Bailey, Executive Director of Greater Cincinnati Water Works, and Rebecca Slabaugh, Drinking Water Practice Lead at Arcadis.
