AMWA Submits Letter In Support Of EPA SAB Candidates
Last week, AMWA submitted a letter of recommendation for four subject matter experts from member utilities to serve on EPA’s Science Advisory Board: Daniel Gerrity of Southern Nevada Water Authority, Chris Moody and Brian Redder of Fairfax Water, and John Norton of Great Lakes Water Authority.
Back in May, EPA opened nominations for the SAB, which provides independent scientific and technical advice to the EPA Administrator on a breadth of environmental topics. The agency has since moved forward with a list of 165 candidates based on nominations received and willingness to serve.
AMWA’s comments on its four nominees emphasized that professionals from public water systems possess expertise on a broad range of scientific topics applicable to drinking water treatment processes, and would provide unique insights during the agency’s review of scientific and technical information during the development of drinking water regulations.
Additional information on the panel formation process is available on the SAB’s nomination web page.
