AltaPac™ AP-II Ultrafiltration Membrane Case Study

Source: WesTech Engineering, Inc.

Cibola is a small community located in Southern Arizona along the Colorado River. With a growing population, the community decided to install a centralized water system to replace individual wells. Water quality from these wells was consistently poor and, as a result, many residents would have to travel 25 miles to purchase bottled water for their families and pets.

For the new treatment plant, the lower Colorado River was selected as a reliable water source. Since the operators of the Cibola Water Treatment Plant have many other responsibilities in addition to the plant, the plant needed to be simple, intuitive, have low maintenance, and be reliable and robust. To provide the highest quality water with the lowest operations and maintenance, Cibola, in conjunction with the engineer, selected a membrane filtration system.
