Layne Christensen manufactures aerators used in potable water systems to remove dissolved gases and to oxidize naturally occuring compounds for treatment downstream. Aerators can also reduce taste and odor problems, in addition to helping with nitrate removal.

Layne's forced draft or induced draft aerators provide a cost–effective method of removing undesirable gases, such as carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, and radon. Additional applications include pH adjustment and the oxidation of iron.
