ACTIFLO® MEM Clarification And Membrane Filtration

Source: Veolia Water Technologies

ACTIFLO MEM is a proven technology treating over 590 MGD at over 120 plants worldwide. The first installation was in 1998, combining ACTIFLO® and Nanofiltration to remove algae, TOC and pesticides. Since then, ACTIFLO MEM has been installed for phosphorus reduction, algae removal, seawater desalination, iron and manganese
removal, aquifer recharge, irrigation water and a wide variety of industrial applications.

Optimize The Integrated Process

ACTIFLO is designed with the downstream membrane process in mind.

  • Polymer dose in the ACTIFLO is minimized
  • ACTIFLO coagulant and polymer are selected to improve membrane run-times and cleaning efficiency
  • ACTIFLO effluent filterability can be monitored using the Modified Fouling Index (MFI)
