ABB Helps New Zealand's Watercare Comply With New Fluoride Monitoring Regulations

Aztec 600

To comply with New Zealand’s new water regulations, Watercare, the country’s largest water and wastewater utility, partnered with ABB and Water Engineers Limited to install ABB Aztec AFM631 Fluoride Analyzers across Auckland’s water treatment plants. The initiative ensures that fluoride levels in drinking water are continuously monitored, meeting the legal requirements set by Taumata Arowai by 2024.

By the end of 2023, Watercare successfully installed ten analyzers, thanks to ABB’s trusted expertise and reliable technology. The Aztec AFM631 provides real-time, accurate fluoride monitoring, safeguarding against over-dosing while ensuring compliance with strict safety standards. Beyond meeting regulatory deadlines, Watercare now benefits from low-maintenance, user-friendly instrumentation that enhances water quality management.

This collaboration highlights the importance of advanced technology in maintaining safe, compliant, and efficiently managed water systems, reinforcing Watercare’s commitment to delivering high-quality drinking water to Auckland residents.
