Xylem To Launch Revolutionary New Wastewater Technology At IFAT And Feature Several Innovative, Sustainable Wastewater Management Technologies

Xylem, a leading global water technology company dedicated to solving the most challenging water issues, has announced that it will launch a revolutionary new wastewater pumping technology at the IFAT trade show in Munich next week (30th May-3rd June). Tomas Brannemo, Senior Vice President and President Transport will unveil the new Flygt brand system at the event on Monday 30th May at 1pm at Xylem’s booth 451/550, Hall A6.

“We are very much looking forward to launching this new technology on the market – a game-changer for the wastewater industry - and showcasing it to our customers,” said Tomas. “This is a very powerful, ground-breaking system that will revolutionise the wastewater industry. Flygt has always been a market-leader and this new technology will further cement that reputation.”

Xylem will also launch a new, Flygt-branded compact plug-and-play pump controller with advanced monitoring and control capabilities designed to optimise wastewater pumping efficiency, at the show. The self-contained, intuitive controller with powerful pre-programmed functionality enables operators to quickly and easily install and configure the unit to match specific wastewater pumping needs.

The company’s advanced solutions for tackling challenging micro pollutants will be displayed at their booth in Hall A3. In addition, visitors to the show can experience Xylem’s Wedeco MiPRO AOP technology in action in the outside demonstration area at the show.

Xylem recently launched its highly efficient Sanitaire TurboMAX blowers, which will be featured at IFAT. Aeration systems in wastewater treatment plants typically account for about half of a plant’s energy use*. Xylem’s Sanitaire TurboMAX high speed turbo blower line offers high efficiency, low maintenance blower technology to reduce energy consumption and operating costs, with the blowers typically up to 30-40 percent more efficient than positive displacement blowers - the most commonly used blower technology**.

Flygt 4320, Xylem’s high efficiency, low-speed submersible wastewater mixer that can help reduce energy costs by as much as 50 percent, will be exhibited at the show. Unlike conventional submersible mixers, Flygt 4320 offers built-in speed regulation to optimise operators’ control over the mixer’s thrust, enabling consistent process results while reducing energy consumption.

Xylem’s pressure boosting system Lowara GT HV will also be showcased at the event. This is a fully automatic and variable speed pressure booster system for both municipal and industrial applications, including irrigation. Lowara pressure boosting systems use advanced technology to maximize the energy efficiency of delivering water at the desired pressure.

A selection of Xylem’s analytical instrumentation will be exhibited at IFAT, at booth 151/250 in Hall A5. These products include Xylem’s WTW brand photoLab® 7000 Series of spectrophotometers, along with the new photoLab® 7600 UV-VIS spectrophotometer for the measurement of chemical oxygen demand (COD), nitrate and nitrite in discharge from municipal wastewater plants. Also showcased will be the WTW wireless transmitter modules, which measure pH, conductivity, dissolved oxygen and turbidity with IDS sensors without the restrictions associated with electrode cables. In addition, the new IQ Sensor Net System 28X delivers a comprehensive monitoring and control solution for wastewater applications.

Xylem will sponsor the European Water Association events that will take place during IFAT; the ‘Challenges Arising from Micro-Pollutants in Wastewater, Water, and Environment’ symposium (30th May-1st June) and the ‘Applying Life Cycle Costing in Public Procurement Procedures of Water Infrastructures’ conference.

Francois Audo, Xylem’s regional director for Southern Europe who will present during the latter conference said, “Xylem is dedicated to producing sustainable water and wastewater solutions that have a lower lifecycle cost. Our teams work on this every day – from our research into reducing electricity-related emissions in wastewater management, to our latest launches of leading, high efficiency technologies.”

Xylem will host three booths at IFAT. Visitors are welcome to explore Xylem’s solutions to critical water and wastewater challenges in Hall A6 at booth number 451/550 and booth 151/250 in Hall A5. A booth dedicated to the company’s micro pollutant solutions can be found in Hall A3 (booth number 442).

Xylem will unveil its new pumping system at booth 451/550, Hall A6 on Monday 30th May at 1pm.
