Spec Rubber Introduces Barracuda Restraint Joint Gasket At WEFTEC

Specification Rubber Products (Booth # 1601) is unveiling its new Barracuda restraint joint gasket to the water industry at the WEFTEC trade show in New Orleans, Louisiana, Sept. 29, through Oct. 1, 2014.

“We are excited to introduce our new Barracuda RJ gasket to the waterworks industry,” said Steven Smith, president of Specification Rubber Products. “Its bright safety orange color differentiates it from other RJ gaskets on the market today, and allows customers to easily determine if a joint is restrained. The color identification also allows installers to properly and safely disassemble a joint. The Barracuda gasket is an important step in the evolution of ensuring safe and reliable installations.”

Unlike traditional black SBR restraint joint gaskets, the Barracuda is the first NSF and UL certified gasket molded in safety orange to provide installers, contractors and inspectors with visual confirmation that a restraint joint gasket has been installed. The Barracuda is also “Made in the USA.”

"The water industry is critical to lives and businesses across America,” said Smith. “Since 1968,Specification Rubber Products has been dedicated to the water industry and its consumers who depend on clean water and safe water sanitation. This new product is another sign of our commitment to the industry, and we feel our customers are anxious to embrace new methodologies, technologies and products like the Barracuda. We are honored to launch this product at a premier water industry event such as WEFTEC.”
