The Silica Sorption Process technology from Veolia Water Technologies is a cost-effective method removal of silica from produced water from SAGD (steam assisted gravity drainage) extra heavy oilfield operations.

Utilizing evaporation, this process provides for flexible disposal options of waste brines with high concentrations of silica and other scaling constituents.

The advantages of this technology include decreased chemical consumption as well as reduction of solid and liquid wastes when compared to conventional treatment methods.
