White Paper: What Happens After The BMP Is Installed?

Source: Environment 21, LLC

By Jeffrey Benty and Dino Pezzimenti

The demand for stormwater treatment is rising at an increasingly accelerated rate as the Environmental Protection Agency Regulatory demands become more stringent. These regulations have provided the way for emerging technologies to meet the environmental needs, from Land Based to proprietary products. With product developments comes the need for testing and performance verification (though the industry seems to only enforce these verification requirements on proprietary products and holds Land Based systems and LID's to a lesser standard). Manufacturers are required to verify through lab and field testing that their products meet their claims. Once the demands for verification are met and local regulatory agencies have accepted the practice, these practices can start to be specified and installed to help clean our stormwater runoff.
